Shan's Canon: NFL Unis

First in an ongoing series of lists that provides the definitive order of things in the universe.

Best NFL Uniforms:
  1. San Diego Chargers (powder blues only)
  2. Oakland Raiders
  3. NY Giants
  4. Chicago Bears
  5. New Orleans Saints (not all black, though)

Worst NFL Uniforms:
  1. Cleveland Browns
  2. Miami Dolphins
  3. Buffalo Bills
  4. Denver Broncos
  5. Washington Redskins

I can't even list the Bengals. They're so gaudy and god awful they almost make a complete loop back around from ugly, to so hideous you can't stop looking at them. And they DO pay off the mascot and identity. Also, I want to turn off my television any time a team (looking at you, rocket laser arm boy) wears all white, no matter how iconic the uni.

2 comments:

  1. Sadly, it does not appear that the Raiders team will live up to the quality of their uniforms any time soon.

I would have left off the Dolphins, and put the Seahawks on the worst uni list. What color are those anyway, blue/gray/metallic, what? And the helmet emblem. Something much cooler could have been designed.

The Bengals have always had ugly unis. If you will recall, before the current travesty, they used to have Bengals spelled out on their helmets in block lettering. I think Paul Brown's grandson designed it with the stencil set he received for Xmas in fifth grade.

  2. I chose based purely on personal aesthetics, not winning percentage (I think the title of this blog will correspond to Lane Kiffin's press conferences by the end of next year).

I hate the Dolphins. Not to get all Diane Chambers here, but how intimidating is fucking Flipper? (And not Flipper Anderson on that one MNF game). And anything with orange already gets demerits in my book.

Strangely, I have an unnatural love for the Seahawks monochrome unis. While the color is a might indescribable, at least it doesn't have bizarre piping all over it. Or a trace of orange.
