It's ...DUDE, how can you not be watching Lost? It's fantastic, and this may be the best season yet. (Plus, Hurley in a UGA sweatshirt!)

I've been a little obsessed with that this season, plus Joss's new show (at least blog-wise). BSG has been great, also, but I've just been watching that one "unfold" rather than trying to overanalyze every detail since we're so close to the end. (I will be posting a list of "what I want to have resolved" tomorrow, though).

Thanks for the Idol thoughts. I downloaded a couple of MJ songs that I really like today, but damned if I didn't feel like I needed a shower browsing through the iTunes store, ya know?

Since this was my first exposure, I formed opinions solely on last night, and really liked Danny and Allison, along with Adam's unique take on an awful song. I guess I gave him more credit for making me enjoy such a trite tune, and not in a way that I had heard before (last season D Cook rocked Billie Jean, but it was basically Chris Cornell's, though that didn't make it any less enjoyable). And it's hard to be "sold" on anyone after just one week. We all know everyone can do the complete face plant on a given theme week. But there were some good tunes out there that weren't chosen, no?

I thought Lil was capable, but I'm kind of immune to the R&B "diva" thing (LaToya, Syesha, Melinda, etc.) where these young girls with a big voice all want to be Whitney or Mariah. And there's only ONE Diva who can get Bobby Brown to pull dried up poo out of her ass.Shanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02912061891010047846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6308566111258293099.post-6725353868290178072009-03-11T19:51:00.000-04:002009-03-11T19:51:00.000-04:00I'm so pleased the "Idol" review is back. (Your b...I'm so pleased the "Idol" review is back.

(Your best comment this week: "You're not along" -- which MJ may have written under a card table blanket fort").

That comment of itself made up for the War and Peace like "Lost" reviews (which the Mrs. and I still haven't seen); and the disturbing lack of Battlestar Galactica analysis this season (it has been extremely solid).

Anyway, having seen "some" of the prior shows (probably about 75%) -- I predicted going into last night the three finalists would be Danny, Lil, and Allison; with Danny as my favorite to take it all.

Adam strikes me as the overly hopped up on his musical ability "theatre" kid -- although converted over from high school musicals to rock and roll. Last night was very good, but I'm still not sold.

Megan was my fourth favorite, although I find the solid color right arm tattoo a bit distracting.Freebirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03497685364383102839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6308566111258293099.post-69581512750084536132009-03-11T16:04:00.000-04:002009-03-11T16:04:00.000-04:00Yeah, all I know is what I saw through from the 2 ...Yeah, all I know is what I saw through from the 2 hours last night (well, about 1 after FFing through all the pregnancies, tragedies and schmoopy family stuff). I don't watch or read a thing until we get to this stage, so I didn't know who was designated as a frontrunner or fave.
There was no "Sanjaya" that was irredeemable -- just some bad song choices and awkward performances, so we'll see how it goes.
After thinking about it, I see what you mean with the wife. That made sense to me when I heard it, but she looked so pissy about it, I thought there was some other joke at work (like she had left him, but they reconciled through the magic of Idol and Paula's rainbows and angels or something) that I had missed. Funny.Shanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02912061891010047846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6308566111258293099.post-10417796172479772962009-03-11T15:53:00.000-04:002009-03-11T15:53:00.000-04:00I was interested to hear what you thought, since y...I was interested to hear what you thought, since you didn't have 4 weeks of hype for the "chosen ones" to influence you. As far as talent goes, this is a very solid top 12/13.

I wish you had heard Anoop do other things, because this performance was doomed due to a stupid song choice. I think you WILL get to hear him again...he has a large fan base that will keep him around for a couple of weeks regardless of how he does.

I actually think Jorge has a great voice, but that arrangement and presentation was terrible.

I THINK what Simon was saying about Kris's wife was that he should have let the young girls in the audience think he was still single, so that they would be more likely to vote for him. I didn't get the reference until somebody else explained it to me, and I don't think Kris's wife got it at ALL. She looked like she was about to start throwing knives at Simon.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00155737107718849274noreply@blogger.com
